Mamun Rashid

Founding Partner

Mamun Rashid is one of Bangladesh's most prominent financial sector leaders, with close to four decades across local and international institutions. He served as Managing Director and Citi Country Officer of Citibank N.A. Bangladesh, reported as the first Bangladeshi CEO of an American bank, led PwC Bangladesh as its Managing Partner, and earlier built Standard Chartered Bank's treasury and financial institutions businesses after starting his career with ANZ Grindlays Bank in Dhaka and Mumbai.

He is president of ShopUp, a leading Bangladeshi B2B commerce platform, and chairman of Financial Excellence Limited and the venture capital firm BD Venture. A long-time economic analyst, columnist and author, he has taught business at universities in Bangladesh for two decades and holds an MBA from Henley Business School.

Selim Barkat

Founding Partner

Selim Barkat spent three decades with Citibank N.A. in Bangladesh and the United States, working across corporate banking, financial institutions, capital markets and risk management. He played a pivotal role in establishing Citibank's first branch in Bangladesh, and in the US led coverage spanning bank markets, Citi's global not-for-profit business, and institutional portfolios across technology, media and telecom, investment banks and financial market infrastructure.

He went on to lead HBL's franchise across Bangladesh, Sri Lanka and the Maldives as Regional General Manager. He holds an MBA from the Institute of Business Administration at the University of Dhaka.

Iqbal Ashraf

Iqbal Ashraf

Founding Partner

Iqbal Ashraf is a founder of GUILD Consulting, the Honolulu firm whose model GUILD Consulting Bangladesh brings to Dhaka. His practice spans growth, financial management and project management: complex problem solving with senior leaders, and helping owner-led companies organize for faster growth.

Earlier he founded and ran ProAccounting Hawaii, an outsourced accounting firm, after management roles at General Electric across finance, projects and technology. He holds a bachelor's degree in chemical engineering and an MBA from leading institutions in India.

Jan Rumi

Jan Rumi

Founding Partner

Jan Rumi brings more than two decades of business advisory and management consulting experience, including leading Grant Thornton's Business Advisory Services practice in Honolulu. He advises on new markets, channel partnerships and information technology, with work spanning government, finance, retail, construction, insurance, education and real estate.

He serves as honorary consul of Bangladesh and of Morocco for the State of Hawaii, and is a past president of the Honolulu Lions Club. He holds a Master of Science from Purdue University.
